The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (SOTEL) at Sonoma State University prepares educators and leaders to support diverse learners and make a meaningful impact in schools and communities across TK–12 and beyond.

Housed within the College of Education, Counseling, and Ethnic Studies (ECES), our programs integrate theory, clinical practice, leadership, and advocacy to strengthen schools and communities.

Students and program completers pursue careers in teaching, special education, school and district leadership, instructional coaching, community-based education, and equity-focused organizations, as well as advanced work in policy, curriculum, leadership, and higher education.

We offer a Master of Arts in Education, Credential Programs, and Added Authorizations designed to support multiple pathways into the education profession.
